Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

Why is there a reflection of someones facebook page on the gl$#%&!@*?
If you are shopping in Walmart, unless you are paying cash, they already know who you are. As much shoplifting as goes on at Walmart, you can expect they would have cameras and I definately like cameras in the parking lot. It’s important to at least catch people who break into your car or run into it or $#%&!@*ault people in the parking lot/store. If I worried about being on camera, I’d have to move away from civilization.
They do record all traffic entering and leaving, normally at eye level, but it does not have any facial recognition. It is simply to hand over to authorities when a theft occurs.
If people would grow up and stop stealing this kind of thing would not be an issue.

A good laugh, wally world responsible.
1 It’s private property, if you can’t handle their security measures then you don’t have to shop there. 2 they put them at eye level to try to reduce hats and other headgear from blocking facial views, DUH
If you own a smart phone, they know who you are when you go in a store.
Its not just to stop theft. Also to provide evidence in case of a fall or injury involving employees or customers. They record, they save. And if you are a plaintiff it is not easy to get that video from them to establish the validity of your case.
