Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

Simply pointing out that these a obviously for facial recognition.
But you are mis quoting the camera specs saying that the camera is what is doing the facial recognition. It’s not their VMS or Head End is where that is done. Not to mention that manufacturer has many cameras that use that housing. How do you know the specifications that you are quoting and the camera match up?

Analytical cameras have been around awhile and are in alot of different retailers stores. Im a LP Profesional for a big box retailer and we have these same cameras but what my company utilizes these for is to count how many people enter and exit the store everyday. It gives the company a better idea of how many people shop our store but yet may not buy.
