Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

I agree Wendy.. I don’t expect everyone will get it. Nature of the Beast, know what I mean. If there weren’t people willing to stay blind, how would the government ever think they could accomplish what they want to? But I am fortunate for everyone out there fighting the Infowar… Whether people want to admit it, they need people like us..
Lmao Ben Millageb Tim Schell you see this$#%&!@*apparently Walmart has super awesome cameras! And here we’ve been forced to use the bull$#%&!@*cameras in the office lol
They can also spot all the shoplifters who continue to steal and therefore make the rest of us pay more. If you’ve got nothing to hide why worry about being seen. This is just paranoid people looking for a reason to rant.
Exactly. This investment is intended to reduce loss and keep prices low, a benefit to the consumer. Also, there is zero right to privacy in a public place.
The people in this thread aren’t blind…..they just seen seeing things that aren’t there @ Rick Mendes and Wendy Woodward…..yes they do “work” an estimated amount of loss into the budget. That does not mean that they don’t want that loss figure as close to zero as possible. Get a clue to reality and stop with the unfounded conspiracy theories. There is no right to privacy in a public place
Very cool stuff I have worked with Video analytics. I helped with the university of Lexington and they have entered the mug shots of rapist and certain felons, for monitoring and removal. Lol the price is way up there. Check you a system called next level, it is a video management software, with a full access control system. They also monitor for gun shots with audio and can to a campus wide lock down. They are 100 percent sure they will not mistake something else for a gun fire.
yes sir, I have done camera systems for 2/3 of my life. Technology is revolving so rapidly, it is scary. At the same time sucks by the time I sell a system 2 years later it is out dated.
Yet another reason to never shop at China…I mean Walmart.
Stop being so paranoid! What do you have to hide anyway?
Jeff Shimmons, they’re all blind. Still in slumber. Can’t see what is hidden in plain sight, The moves are being made in the present moment. By the time said sleepers open their eyes. It’ll be too late.
