Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.
SEE PAGE 2:
That contract stood for less than 1 year as the Stanley cameras shorted out within the first month, these new cams are not facial recognition, I put them in, this article is b******t
Actually these new $1000 a piece cams are awesome, but there’s no recognition software
That’s part of the system and they are c**p. Mobotix doesn’t have any software issues and it’s free so they don’t bend everyone over the desk just to own a security camera
And we care why?
I’m going to bet you are there three times a week.
I already hated Walmart before this…
WallyWorld has worked with governments before, in a security capacity, like during the swine flu outbreaks. these cameras are going to start being every where, because if you’re out of your house anyone can record or surveil you, without legal issue
that has been in our local store for a couple years
DONALD J TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT
i wonder what the fine will be for taking a bat to one of those?
