All the while, our police force is being militarized at an alarming rate, with veterans being cited as one reason why. This is revealed in a statement made last month by Sgt. Dan Downing of the Morgan County, Ind. Sheriff’s Department, he stated “The weaponry is totally different now that it was in the beginning of my career, plus, you have a lot of people who are coming out of the military that have the ability and knowledge to build IEDs and to defeat law enforcement techniques.”

Link has 2 videos – one on military equipment to local depts and the other on the veteran who was arrested without charge because federal govt agencies read his fb and email and rule without regard for the Constitution (free speech, warrants, charges, entirety). I did not come away from viewing with thoughts about local police. I was concerned with the top-down directives leading to these actions. Saying this is BS and not really news is an understandable reaction as a member of law enforcement. It is also a disservice as an American. There was no reading of email friend, you are adding that incorrectly or you have been sold an untruth. As far as Facebook- I am VERY progun, however I care who buys my firearm, I also care who I take on as a roomate… Making a bad decision on either one can cause a catastrophe in the end… (Google Roomate Nightmares) How do I check people? Do I go into a secret underground lab with men in black and check emails? hardly… I pull up their facebook (on my normal civilian computer)… You can see alot about a person by what they place online for all the world to see… When you post something on a public domain, it is no more private than if you placed a sign on the front of your house…. Place a sign on the front of your house saying what this guy said… see what happens…
