Socialism always starts as a “people’s movement,” with mindless and ignorant people being directed by elitist con men in the background, telling the foolish that by bringing down the “rich,” everyone will share in the abundance that socialism will bring. It is always a lie, and invariably almost all the people end up in poverty, with the exception of the top socialist leaders who live like kings. Fidel Castro is certainly one who has lived that life, and his protege, Hugo Chavez destroyed the Venezuelan economy pursuing the same socialist policies.
When the economy comes crashing down, it is necessary for the leadership to blame an outside source, and when Chavez was alive, he continually named the United States for all of the woes the country was suffering from. In fact, the oil rich country provides 9 percent of the U.S. gross oil imports, which must be a considerable sum of export income to the nation of 30 million people. As such, the U.S. provided a huge portion of the countries income, but Chavez resented that as well.
Venezuela has expropriated foreign and domestic businesses, which means that the people have little invested in the country and are becoming very unhappy with the leadership as it nosedives to complete economic ruin.
For more on the Venezuelan “people’s paradise,” see page 2:
Why would we want to invade Venezuela when Venezuela, Guatemala and among other south American countries population are in the US now.
Dave Pearson corporations don’t pay taxes, they’re imbedded in the price of their services or goods. Listen closely, I’ll tell you a secret!!
Corporations are in business to make profits for their owners or stockholders, creating jobs is a byproduct, believe me if they could make a sellable product without employees they would!
They also are not in business to fill government coffers.
Announce a new plant and watch states offer them no taxes for 10 years, those are the deals that bring jobs to your state.if you worked for a corporation you would feel different.
Drive all corporations off shore you loose all those jobs as well as income tax from all the employees. All a socialist understands is tax everybody and give me free$#%&!@*!
If you look at the history of the US and Venezuela, this is a valid concern. The US has tried to get their hands on their oil reserves and corporatize the country for years. I have been asking.. where is all the humanitarian aid? When there is a natural disaster anywhere in the world, offers of aid from other countries follows. 85% seeking medical attention is because of malnutrition. There is no medicine so disease is running rampant. There are food riots. Where is the GO FUND for Venezuela? Or Convoy of Hope? I feel like other countries are sitting back like vultures waiting for desperation to set in. Let the people overthrow their govt then whoever steps in with aid will be a “savior”.
Yikes
This is what happens to the people when they let the government tell them how much toilet paper they can have a week
Exactly what is headed our way, sad but true.
Typical ploy of dictatorships to create the big, bad American enemy straw man as justification for remaining in power.
And at the current rate America will soon follow
America! Take note of what is going on in Venezuela! Vote Trump not HILLARY and give Trump a chance to fix our great country! Prayers for America!
Term limits and keep lobbiest away from our politicians will help change things
