Socialism always starts as a “people’s movement,” with mindless and ignorant people being directed by elitist con men in the background, telling the foolish that by bringing down the “rich,” everyone will share in the abundance that socialism will bring. It is always a lie, and invariably almost all the people end up in poverty, with the exception of the top socialist leaders who live like kings. Fidel Castro is certainly one who has lived that life, and his protege, Hugo Chavez destroyed the Venezuelan economy pursuing the same socialist policies.
When the economy comes crashing down, it is necessary for the leadership to blame an outside source, and when Chavez was alive, he continually named the United States for all of the woes the country was suffering from. In fact, the oil rich country provides 9 percent of the U.S. gross oil imports, which must be a considerable sum of export income to the nation of 30 million people. As such, the U.S. provided a huge portion of the countries income, but Chavez resented that as well.
Venezuela has expropriated foreign and domestic businesses, which means that the people have little invested in the country and are becoming very unhappy with the leadership as it nosedives to complete economic ruin.

Dale Poling dictatorship, dictatorship, dictatorship, and yes,$#%&!@*was a dictator too… (
This is where the liberals and obummer are taking us
coming to a neighborhood near you if you are stupid enough to keep electing socialist. As thatcher said, it only works until you run out of other peoples money. With 47% paying no income tax we are getting closer every day.
Elliott Baker control of the border and the military is in the constitution as a mandate on the federal government. Wealth redistribution and social programs are NOT. 75% of the social spending is lost within the buracracy. Get the 10th amendment back. The closer to the need that the funding is, the better it is spent.
Todd Burgun ALL social programs are a fraud at the federal level. 75% is lost within the bureaucracy!! Read the constitution. The military is one of the FEW powers allowed to the central government. Social programs and wealth redistribution is not. Bring back the 10th amendment.
No truth, no action.
My wife is Venezuelan…we can attest to the truth of the failure of Socialism…we have seen and lived with the horrible results, which her family suffers with on a daily basis…no food, no water, no electricity, no medicines, armed cops, soldiers and government thugs on every corner. Total corruption. We try to send them some help, a few dollars, and things like aspirin, vitamins, clothing, toothpaste, etc’, which are not available any more there. The young idiots who back people like Bernie Sanders think they can just live in a happy land of socialistic freebies, just like those who once supported Hugo Chavez, and are now reaping the rewards …starvation, sickness, and violence. The decent people who are still there, trapped by the unavailability of even airline tickets, are HOPING the US will invade, since they are terrorized into submission, not allowed to own guns, and have no way to throw off the dictatorship.
They are in later stages of socialism it’s progressive and unchecked it’s a disease
So, who’s surprised, other than liberal democrats.
The U.S. is a Federal Republic. We don’t directly vote for federal policies. That’s Congress’s job. We vote for the people who vote for those policies. SMH.
