Socialism always starts as a “people’s movement,” with mindless and ignorant people being directed by elitist con men in the background, telling the foolish that by bringing down the “rich,” everyone will share in the abundance that socialism will bring. It is always a lie, and invariably almost all the people end up in poverty, with the exception of the top socialist leaders who live like kings. Fidel Castro is certainly one who has lived that life, and his protege, Hugo Chavez destroyed the Venezuelan economy pursuing the same socialist policies.
When the economy comes crashing down, it is necessary for the leadership to blame an outside source, and when Chavez was alive, he continually named the United States for all of the woes the country was suffering from. In fact, the oil rich country provides 9 percent of the U.S. gross oil imports, which must be a considerable sum of export income to the nation of 30 million people. As such, the U.S. provided a huge portion of the countries income, but Chavez resented that as well.
Venezuela has expropriated foreign and domestic businesses, which means that the people have little invested in the country and are becoming very unhappy with the leadership as it nosedives to complete economic ruin.

If people would actually share and care vs s proletariat, ie actual socialiam vs the political def. I bet things would work out as well as democracy, if actual votes counted vs side deals, lobbying, straight lies, misrepresentaion of all facts to serve a different purpose, checking ids for citizenship not good ole boy rating, hows about let lets a treasonous admitted liar in the run.. but yes somehow democracy is the best of the best…
There are many not shackled by the lies of religion that will stand as well pal. In fact, it’s religion and the crazies they spawn that have caused 50% of the issues in this country and the world and 50% greedy politicians.
I hate to break it to ya but Socialism never works because of the 5 laws of decline. People will always choose plunder over production. It collapses underneath it’s own weight every time. It is an unsustainable society because there is no reward for hard work and the elites eventually get killed. Open a history book.
Socialism ends when the right ruins it to regain the advantages they lost. The elite never let it stand and we, the usa, are the 1st to help them wreck it.
When meritocracy dies , people die by the thousands , no accountability since the responsibility is suppressed, Voters should suffer to learn a lesson, too bad the voters were stripped of guns , they could at least change course faster than the slow death many will suffer
Even in good times , incomes were superseded to enrich the govt bureaucrats and deny wages based upon merit and hard work
