Socialism always starts as a “people’s movement,” with mindless and ignorant people being directed by elitist con men in the background, telling the foolish that by bringing down the “rich,” everyone will share in the abundance that socialism will bring. It is always a lie, and invariably almost all the people end up in poverty, with the exception of the top socialist leaders who live like kings. Fidel Castro is certainly one who has lived that life, and his protege, Hugo Chavez destroyed the Venezuelan economy pursuing the same socialist policies.
When the economy comes crashing down, it is necessary for the leadership to blame an outside source, and when Chavez was alive, he continually named the United States for all of the woes the country was suffering from. In fact, the oil rich country provides 9 percent of the U.S. gross oil imports, which must be a considerable sum of export income to the nation of 30 million people. As such, the U.S. provided a huge portion of the countries income, but Chavez resented that as well.
Venezuela has expropriated foreign and domestic businesses, which means that the people have little invested in the country and are becoming very unhappy with the leadership as it nosedives to complete economic ruin.
For more on the Venezuelan “people’s paradise,” see page 2:

It never ever works so why they keep trying it doesn’t make sense.
So does fascism.
Their system did not fail the leaders are corrupt and looted the system to the tune of trillions. Just like the leaders here same scam diffrent system.
FYI : Castro and Chaves are communists/socialists, $#%&!@*was national socialist.
Wrongo! Do your own research instead spewing the main stream propaganda opinion of these men. Yes,$#%&!@*was a national socialist and what’s wrong with loving and and putting your people first over the Zionist who control the world to this day.
Thanks for the insult Cary, I’m sure that makes you feel better about yourself, but it doesn’t really foster a constructive conversation. I do see the similarities and I’m saying the same exact thing will happen here because politicians are corrupt. If you can’t see THAT and think it will be different here, then you are the moron sir.
Little kids.
Max Shipek If you can see the similarities then you are not a moron. It was a one or the other statement.
Sorry wingers; Venezuelan socialism didn t
cause their problems. The country is run by
a corrupt oligarchy, and their economy came
undone when oil prices collapsed. All you capiitalists can take heart, however.Market
capitalism will be imposed on Venezuela
substituting
Liberals should go live in Venezuela for a week and see what socialism really is.
