The movement against the BLM and Forestry Service western lands takeover continues to build, with the aftermath of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge demonstration and the slaying of rancher LaVoy Finicum by federal agents serving as a rallying point for those who believe the federal government has grown too big and powerful, particularly in the western states. Don’t miss the video included later in the article.
The compliant media has circled the wagons to declare the demonstrators were radical, right-wing constitutionalists, as if the U.S. Constitution can be protected and promoted too much.
Somehow, those who dismiss the ranchers and their supporters in the western states can’t see that the government, which “owns” over 50 percent of the land in eleven western states, is much more interested in power and control, and much more committed to radical environmentalists than to farmers and ranchers trying to make a living on the land that, like as not, has been a family pursuit and way of life for generations.
To put a finer point on the issue, mere weeks after the Malheur protesters were arrested and the refuge cleared, President Obama declared three more parcels of land in California as federal land, with little or no future access granted to mere citizens of the state. And by parcels, I mean almost 2 million acres that are now set aside as an offering to the Sierra Club and their ilk, with no compensation offered to California for the taking.
Federal government supporters are painting protesters as lawless cowboys, ignoring the fact that the Constitution prohibits the federal government from owning more than a ten square mile plot in Washington D.C., and areas for forts and military installations that require state approval to acquire.

Charles J. Algeri yea because they were paid off.Slick Willy and Loretta lynch had a meeting on a con concord then she don’t get charged.Hillary say’s trump supporters are the red necks and “deplorables” but Hillary supporters lack the moral compass. So in short go$#%&!@*your self if pos wins say good bye America and say hello to whatever$#%&!@*Muslim is naming it after your girl hill dog sells us out.
Everyone keeps using the word state land. This isn’t state it is public land, as in we the people, that is managed by our elected government’s cabinet agencies. I’m tired of hearing Bundy and his like say they want state control. All he wants is something for nothing and in fact he owes “we the people” decades of grazing fees he never paid and never intended to pay. And before you freak out I’ve been in law enforcement 17 yrs and am voting Trump
So I can understand grazing and this along those lines, especially in mountainous terrain, because of the rocky terrain there is often less grass for a decent heard of cattle. But on the otherside, why are the states not getting involved if federal ownership is against the constitutional mandates? Another thing is the amount of federal and state money for wild fires and such. Would ranchers and the public then sue for not getting help in those emergencies? One of the aspects of the BLM is also to help keep areas from being destroyed by tourist and outsiders, about that same as the DOW. I can see the federal over reach a bit, but there is more than just land grabbing as said in artical, and a few of the comments. The other comments had little to due with this article, and was just people talking c**p because it’s an election year.

Was trying to figure out exactly how BLM figures into this until I realized they meant the Bureau of Land Management. At least that is what I think they meant.
