The movement against the BLM and Forestry Service western lands takeover continues to build, with the aftermath of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge demonstration and the slaying of rancher LaVoy Finicum by federal agents serving as a rallying point for those who believe the federal government has grown too big and powerful, particularly in the western states. Don’t miss the video included later in the article.
The compliant media has circled the wagons to declare the demonstrators were radical, right-wing constitutionalists, as if the U.S. Constitution can be protected and promoted too much.
Somehow, those who dismiss the ranchers and their supporters in the western states can’t see that the government, which “owns” over 50 percent of the land in eleven western states, is much more interested in power and control, and much more committed to radical environmentalists than to farmers and ranchers trying to make a living on the land that, like as not, has been a family pursuit and way of life for generations.
To put a finer point on the issue, mere weeks after the Malheur protesters were arrested and the refuge cleared, President Obama declared three more parcels of land in California as federal land, with little or no future access granted to mere citizens of the state. And by parcels, I mean almost 2 million acres that are now set aside as an offering to the Sierra Club and their ilk, with no compensation offered to California for the taking.
Federal government supporters are painting protesters as lawless cowboys, ignoring the fact that the Constitution prohibits the federal government from owning more than a ten square mile plot in Washington D.C., and areas for forts and military installations that require state approval to acquire.

I like my sand Castles, bottle rocket wars, while we wear helmets, drink beer, and howl at the moon.. I’m not worried about the sky falling just what can fall out of it. Us little people can’t stop what our Governments decide to do, so why fear any of it.. just live life day by day and make the best of it.. I see a Web and news full of hate, but in my day to day life no matter what race it is, I’m not experiencing any of it, all the locations I work all across the south just don’t see it. So when I see it on the news it’s like watching an a bad movie, with a horrible director.
Gary, I’m not much into sand castles, in the last few decades, anyway, but I’ve been known to, as a matter of fact had a conversation with a cousin about bottle rocket and Roman candle battles which took place 45-50 years ago. It was a good time to be a kid. Clackers and all sorts of irresponsible concoctions for kids. I guess the only time I ever wore/wear a helmet is on a motorcycle, or when I was playing baseball and football. I’ve been known to drink a col’beer. And I’ve damn sure howled at the moon. So I’m tracking you on all that. We are on the same page.
Nor am I the least bit concerned about the sky falling. know Who’s keeping it all together, and it’ll fall when He’s ready for it ot fall, not a nanocecond sooner or later. What falls out of it is of no consequence. It’s gonna be what it’s gonna be.
However, beyond that, we’re in different galaxies. But that’s OK, I’m a “WHY CAN’T WE BE FRIENDS” kinda guy. Had the album, as a matter of fact. Awesome song by a good band.
I not only believe you’re wrong about the people being helpless against the government. I’m absolutely convinced you’re wrong. Brush up on American History. Or world history. There have been countless times governments have been changed, both through election and by force. Now, I’m not stupid enough to be ignorant of the fact that they have the ability to hit me in the ear with a missile at any point in time, regardless of where I am. Especially if I have my car or cell phone with me.
BUT…they can’t hit every person sick of their overgrown, out of control, power hungry, money spending BS. So we definitely have the power to get our nation back to the way it was intended in the original Constitution, with the blatantly clear civil rights issues. By that I mean that any and all civil rights issues are blatantly clear. I didn’t mean a select few.
Living day to day, or even better, moment by moment, this is the only way to fly, so we’re in the same boat on that river.
I see a web representative of humanity in general. You can find hate. You can find love. You can even be looking for love in all the wrong spaces, you get straight facts and you get butchered “news”.
Now, here’s where it get a little personal, and when it gets personal, it means my cage is getting rattled a little and I’m just in my chill zone.
I think we should be beyond “the south is our whipping boy” phase. Nothing has gone on in the South than anywhere else in the nation. You say klan, I say Mafia, Bloods, Crips, Latin Kings, MS-13 and about 33,000 more hate groups. You say Birmingham bombings, I say Boston Riots, LA Riots, Chicago Riots, Detroit Riots (of course, I may give them a pass, since they riot when winning pro sports championships. They don’t have to have any motivation, racial or otherwise. hey just need an excuse). I could go on all night, but you hear what I’m saying.
I do appreciate you takign the opportunity to drop in there the fact, “Wow. Whites and blacks eat in the same resautrants now!” But I’d rather you just have left us out, just as you did every other region of the nation which has had and does have the same problems.
And the really sad part, is that the Boston Riots over bussing were a stinking decade AFTER the Civil Rights movement. Which, BTW, is the child born after the labor pains. Instead of looking at us as “even in the South”, how about don’t even point us out, but when you do have a thought about the South, think about it in terms of the baby, not the labor pains.
The only reason that happens is very basic psychology. In indiviuals it’s referred to as “projecting”.
I may be wrong, my mind slips more every day, but I don’t recall a riot anywhere in what I call “The South” since the mid 60s. That would be 50 years ago.
Can anyone say that of those other cities I mentioned?
But…that’s just me defending my people. And a perfect example of the hate and hacked up news you mentioned. Use the word “South” or “Southern” and it distracts from every other region. All of a sudden, everyone’s envisioning the bad old South.
So, I appreciate your conscious gesture. It’s the bias deep inside that you hide or may don’t even know about that kinda irritates me. But, as I said, I’m a “Why Can’t We Be Friends” kinda guy. So I ain’t judgin’. I’m just asking you not to.
Maybe that’s why DHS has been buying the ammo….they know this too
and you will also all be shot in the face.
Now that’s American
All you guys thumping your chest over the Internet will do absolutely nothing but bark
Michael Haley actually thinks social security is socialism because it has the word social in it. It’s safe to discredit literally anything that comes out of his mouth.
A that guy livin in a fantasy
