The movement against the BLM and Forestry Service western lands takeover continues to build, with the aftermath of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge demonstration and the slaying of rancher LaVoy Finicum by federal agents serving as a rallying point for those who believe the federal government has grown too big and powerful, particularly in the western states. Don’t miss the video included later in the article.
The compliant media has circled the wagons to declare the demonstrators were radical, right-wing constitutionalists, as if the U.S. Constitution can be protected and promoted too much.
Somehow, those who dismiss the ranchers and their supporters in the western states can’t see that the government, which “owns” over 50 percent of the land in eleven western states, is much more interested in power and control, and much more committed to radical environmentalists than to farmers and ranchers trying to make a living on the land that, like as not, has been a family pursuit and way of life for generations.
To put a finer point on the issue, mere weeks after the Malheur protesters were arrested and the refuge cleared, President Obama declared three more parcels of land in California as federal land, with little or no future access granted to mere citizens of the state. And by parcels, I mean almost 2 million acres that are now set aside as an offering to the Sierra Club and their ilk, with no compensation offered to California for the taking.
Federal government supporters are painting protesters as lawless cowboys, ignoring the fact that the Constitution prohibits the federal government from owning more than a ten square mile plot in Washington D.C., and areas for forts and military installations that require state approval to acquire.
Watch as the Sheriff fights back in video on the next page:
Tim M – I don’t think the anger here is directed at parks, but rather government over-reach and restricting the use of government lands for things which would benefit the nation, such as oil and gas exploration and production, not to mention private ownership by citizens and indigenous people.
Either way , I believe it should be fought state by state in the courts , if everyone is serious as they comment form a group everyone donate buy the best lawyer party available state to state if necessary and win the law side otherwise people are getting picked apart piece by piece . Win the courts rule and then tell the feds gtfo . Last stands and shows of force will just feed what they want anti gun fools to believe and make neutral people turn anti gun . Far as I see it’s the states fault for allowing feds so much power . There are Alot of people on our side and Alot of rich people no reason we can’t win the courts other then it’s alot of comment warriors with no commitment.
Nice
All the red is NOT blm land its all federal property be it military national forest army core of engineer. Most of the land in red was bought during Theodore Roosevelts time for national parks some of it was bought to help control flooding and make dams that provide power and jobs during the depression. Other pieces of red nobody wants and is desolate. Yet a bunch of ranchers raising scrubby cows not fit for leather complain when real farmers and ranchers own thier own land in the rest of the country not needing to leach off the people’s land !
^^ to what that he knew exactly what he was doing and the early reports from the females inside were lies cause from that video they had no idea what happened to him let alone could see him when he got shot.
Don Emmerich Use by citizens or natives I could support. The oil and gas not so much, actually, not at all. If you could name a place that is better off after having been drilled, stripped, mined and industrialized, after the resources has been depleted and we move along to the next area, I would be very interested to hear that. Money aside, what would be the benefit ?
The people need someone to honestly follow to the top of the hill.
