The Utah Senate asked Congress to repeal the 17th Amendment, which was ratified under the Progressive’s of 1913. Utah has boldly challenged a system that was never the intent of the Founding Fathers and suggests that the 17th Amendment has resulted in Senators being bound to special interest groups, that donate enormous sums of money for the Senator’s re-election, and not representing the needs of the people of Utah.
The bill’s sponsor, Sen. Al Jackson of Utah, believes that Senators need to “come home every weekend and take direction from their state legislative (sic) body and from the House and the Governor on how they should vote in the upcoming week.”
Passing with 20-6 SJR2 was sent to the House. It demands that Congress repeal the 17th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
Read a history of the 17th Amendment and why Utah has made such a bold call to action on the following page.
Long over due.
The amendments stay, they were put there for a rrason.
Keep them all
Until “The People” EXPATRIATE ” from the 14th Amendment system, there is NO Going back to Our Organic Constitution.
The 14th created a new illegitimate government piggybackin itself on our organic Constitution, having The People Forfeiting their Natural Nights.
The Remedy is EXPATRIATION.
The system will die a Natural death once there are less people to Control and the funds needed to support it.

See what this leads to? Change one, which I don’t agree with, and people will change them all. Keep the constitution as is, do not change history!
I demand repealing the government… Who are not doing their Fucking Jobs
No changing our Constitution none of it.
The 17th transferred power from state legislators to the crony special interests that fund Senators re-election campaigns. It should be repealed to return power to the States as intended by our Founders.
I don’t oppose the taking away the right for corporations to fund senators but I think them coming home every week is a stretch.
The senator truly isn’t their to represent their state but to uphold the constitution.
The 17th transferred power from state legislators to the crony special interests that fund Senators re-election campaigns. It should be repealed to return power to the States as intended by our Founders.
