On Dec. 31, 2014 Utah began the process to retake 31.2 million acres of its own land previously under the control of the federal government. Utah consists of 54.3 million acres, so Washington was controlling more than 65% the state.
The “Transfer of Public Lands Act”, signed by Utah Gov. Gary Herbert in 2012, is an unprecedented move that directly challenges the authority of the federal government.
Now, since the reclaim has taken place, Utah is gearing up to fight the feds.
MOVE ON TO PAGE 2:
ABOUT TIME
Good. Get the federal government out of our local lives
And when the state does that and hires men and women to police it and take care of it, will the feds fire all the people doing that job now? I doubt it. Once a federal employee,,,always a federal employee even if there isn’t any work to be done.
The other states like Oregon, Washington, Idaho … all need to get their land back too. Nevada has over 70 percent land owned by Feds and that state also needs to check into why and how the land was obtained because there are questions with large numbers of lands that no money changed hands which leads to my suspecious mind that maybe they were gotten illegally or something. These states would all be able to hire more people to manage the lands and create more jobs, encourage more hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, skiing ….. bringing millions and millions of dollars back to the states and out of the feds hands.
LOL
Does this remove “imminent domain” from the Feds? If that’s the case, by all means Utah. Time to take control of the out of control federal government. More and more they create laws with riders that completely remove our rights.
Good for them!
Sorry, not true!
it belongs to u utah take it back.
Wish AZ would follow Utah in this.
