Christiana Figueres, the executive secretary for the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change actually admitted during a news conference this month that the real goal of all the climate change propaganda is to kill off capitalism.
“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” Figueres stated.
Figueres even continues and re-iterates the claim by describing such a change as “…the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves…” As if robbing real & privately owned businesses from under owner’ and employee noses can be depicted in such a manner.
With Christiana even holding former president Obama as a ‘shining example as someone tackling global warming’, it really isn’t any wonder that this admission of such a covert strategy continues to help map capitalism’s destruction.

1- CO2 is a greenhouse gas. All this means is that when it’s in the atmosphere, it’s better at trapping heat than nitrogen is (nitrogen is the main component of the atmosphere, about 80%). This can be easily tested in the lab, and it has been. Nitrogen is relatively bad a trapping heat, CO2 is better, methane (natural gas) is better still, so it’s a greenhouse gas too. Once you understand this, it’s easy to see how putting more CO2 (or methane) in the atmosphere would lead to retention of more heat. In fact, it’s physically impossible for the atmosphere to shed as much heat when it’s at 1% CO2 than a higher level (1.3%, for example).
2- There is more CO2 in the atmosphere than there was 100 years ago (and for many thousands of years before that). This is another thing that can be easily measured, and has been for a long time. Older measurements have to be made in clever ways of course, like measuring the CO2 content of ice core samples that to the best of our ability, we know froze several thousand years ago. Also, not only is CO2 rising, it’s actually rising really fast. Faster than ever before as far as scientists can tell.
3- Temperatures are actually rising. I know there are conflicting reports about this, but each of the last three years have been the hottest on record, since as long as we’ve been measuring them. Also, almost all of the 20 hottest years on record have been in the last 20 years. This would be a strong argument in favor of climate change on its own, but it’s even more compelling when you realize that it’s been predicted to happen just like this for decades (because of what we know about CO2 from points 1&2 above).
4- Things that we do as humans DO cause more CO2 to be released into the atmosphere. Burning gasoline, natural gas, coal, jet fuel, any fuel you burn actually, has CO2 as a byproduct. If you think about how many people drive cars, heat their houses, mow lawns, you can see that it’s impossible for an honest, informed person to deny that human activity is causing the release of carbon in the atmosphere. Now you might argue that natural things, like pigs farting, also release carbon into the atmosphere. That’s true, but it’s dwarfed by the amount released by us burning stuff.
Now why is this a problem? Well, because we are and have been for 150 years, burning fuels that had previously been buried deep under the earth, we are releasing carbon that was not previously (in all of human history) in the atmosphere. So we are not just accelerating the cycle of solid carbon to gaseous carbon, we are actually removing solid carbon from the earth and turning it into gas. That’s why it’s getting hotter, and will continue to get hotter unless we change our behavior.
Capitalism doesn’t enter into it.
