In yet another huge blow to our Constitution, the Supreme Court ruled in Jan 2015 that a police officer can violate your 4th Amendment rights if they make a ‘reasonable’ mistake regarding the law.
If you are ignorant of the law, that is no excuse, but if a cop is ignorant of the law, he can violate your rights.
As incredible as it sounds, any cop can ‘play dumb’ and proceed to do anything he wants to you and feel secure that his excuse of ignorance will shield him.
How in the hell can a cop be expected to uphold the law if he doesn’t even know the law?
SEE PAGE 2 TO CONTINUE:
If they don’t know the law then they do not belong there !!!!
if THEY dont know the law??? THAT DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE!!!
It appears we need to replace the judges in the Supreme Court. They don’t appear to understand the law.
$#%&!@* SS in America.
Do not comply! Know your rights even if they don’t! !!!!!!
Absurd.
Well then they should be schooled on the rights of the people, aren’t they people as well?
In Wyoming, a cop can be on the streets up to a year before attending the cop school. I had one in the town of Hanna pull me over twice, for going 2 miles an hour over the speed limit, gave me a warning twice on the second one put in there I failed to disclose I was a ccw card holder, I questioned him about such, to if he new the statute, he replied no, I graciously informed him of such statute.
Why dont cops get in trouble for “ignorance is no excuse”?
How about it is their F’ing J O B to know the law and they better not make a mistake… ~reasonable mistake~ REALLY???
