Does this governor-elect have any teeth in his words or is it all political tongue wagging?
In an interview, Gov.-elect Greg Abbott, the current attorney general, said Texas Obama’s frequent vows to invoke questionable executive power to change immigration law have forced Texans to prepare for yet another “surge” of illegals crossing from the south.
Texas has shouldered considerable expense dealing with the problem of illegal immigration that’s being worsened by the White House, Abbott said, and one horn of any lawsuit would be getting the federal government to pay for problems it’s causing.
But he said the larger point is that immigration laws are made by the country from Capitol Hill, not the White House.
“We’re expecting the White House will not cross the line,” he said. “If the president crosses the line, he’s going to see an overwhelming rejection of what he’s trying to do.”
Abbott is an inept fool
None of the republicans will be in office until January. That’s exactly why Obama is trying to get everything done mow. But the democrats still in office may have a battle on his hands.
They don’t wave tongues in Texas!
Run him out of town on a rail!!
Don’t just sue. Defy him and begin arrests of any federal authorities who try to implement such an order. State authorities need to protect the legal citizens of Texas.
Really? We’re going to sue the bad man? How about bringing charges of treason against that enemy of America and removing his criminal butt from office?
STOP AND IMPEACH OBAMA NOW!!!
I wish you luck Governor. Someone has to stop this imperial president.
It is what States I’m the U.S. have the right to do. People forget what the United States actually means. It is “A group of States, united” not one single country where one person dictates what every State will do whether they like it or not. There are rules to go by. These rules where written in the US Constitution. The President can’t take actions that are for Congress to take even if Congress doesn’t want to take then the way he wants them to take them. It’s funny he wants to take actions, then tells Congress to overwrite them with similar actions. In other words, take the actions I tell you to take the way I want you to take them. Really? So, why have a Congress? We are not like other countries. We don’t have Presidential Decrees like other countries were the legislation gives their presidents power to make laws by Presidential Decree bypassing congress. I do want immigration reform but it has to be done the right way or not at all. What are we going to do 10-20 years from now. Have another amnesty for another 12 million. The right way to stop illegal immigration is to take the incentive to come illegal and give immigrants a better legal way to come to this country. I think Executive action does the opposite. Like I say I want immigration reform but the right way or not at all.
Well until January 1st he better shut the hell up. No need in letting him know what the Governor Elect has in mind.
