Does this governor-elect have any teeth in his words or is it all political tongue wagging?
In an interview, Gov.-elect Greg Abbott, the current attorney general, said Texas Obama’s frequent vows to invoke questionable executive power to change immigration law have forced Texans to prepare for yet another “surge” of illegals crossing from the south.
Texas has shouldered considerable expense dealing with the problem of illegal immigration that’s being worsened by the White House, Abbott said, and one horn of any lawsuit would be getting the federal government to pay for problems it’s causing.
But he said the larger point is that immigration laws are made by the country from Capitol Hill, not the White House.
“We’re expecting the White House will not cross the line,” he said. “If the president crosses the line, he’s going to see an overwhelming rejection of what he’s trying to do.”

Now that the election is over, President Obama is beginning his effort to unilaterally and substantially expand immigration to the United States — whether it be legal, illegal, temporary or permanent — at a time when a record 41.3 million persons in the U.S. were born outside the U.S.”
But the anticipated fury of signings by Barack Obama using his vaunted executive pen will apparently not be limited to amnesty orders that abruptly change the legal status of many millions of immigrants currently in the country illegally.
On top of this concerted amnesty push that threatens to overwhelm the system, another wave is about to crest — a sweeping list of rapid-fire executive actions that Politico calls “the coming climate onslaught.”
“The Obama administration is set to roll out a series of climate and pollution measures that rivals any president’s environmental actions of the past quarter-century — a reality check for Republicans who think last week’s election gave them a mandate to end what they call the White House’s ‘War on Coal.’”
Over the next two months, President Obama will reportedly issue order after order that could well define the running conflict between the executive and legislative branches of government for the remainder of his term.
“Tied to court-ordered deadlines, legal mandates and international climate talks, the efforts scheduled for the next two months show that President Barack Obama is prepared to spend the remainder of his term unleashing sweeping executive actions to combat global warming.”
Indeed, as Fox News reports, Obama has just fired the first big shot in the coming environmental-action wars with the Republican-controlled Congress
