DHS Chief on Onerous TSA Wait Times: People are Traveling Excessively

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been under persistent scrutiny over the years regarding their screening practices and policies since their enactment shortly after that tragic day in September of 2001. TSA has been accused of groping passengers, missing over 50% of weapons and stealing. Theft has been one of their bigger issues and even those thefts caught on surveillance cameras, the harshest punishment any of these employees faced was being fired.

It’s not entirely clear what the purpose of TSA is, at this point, as they’re completely broken. The wait times to get through airport security are topping out around 3 hours. Reportedly, and estimated 800 passengers have missed flights due to the long security lines and the American  Airlines company is trying to pick up the slack by providing 100 stranded passengers cots to sleep on and advising earlier airport arrival times for all departing flights.
