Quite a contrast: Obama demands more useless gun control measures and spouts that anyone not agreeing with him are reprobates. Trump has a plan calling for Nationwide Concealed Carry and an End To Gun Bans.
“Law-abiding people should be allowed to own the firearm of their choice. The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own…” -Donald Trump

NICS background check isn’t always the best. I sold guns for a living at one point: this man showed up he filled out the 4473 application I then proceeded to do the back ground check and he was cleared and good to go. Later that day he was caught shooting the gun around a nearby subdivision saying that there was rats chasing him. Lol
Copy that sir.
Doug,
We need to be very careful about HB 521. Read it closely and then tell me, after looking at Section 6, if you still support it. With the current CCW law, signs carry no weight of law. If we allow this to go though, that changes.
Here is the URL. Section 6 concerns me. This could be made into a big stick to be used against us.
http://www.lrc.ky.gov/record/16RS/HB531/bill.pdf
6) A person who carries a firearm or other deadly weapon in violation of this section, if the premises are posted in accordance with administrative regulations promulgated by the Attorney General under subsection (3) of this section, commits a noncriminal violation with a penalty payable to the clerk of the District Court of fifty dollars ($50) for the first offense and one hundred dollars ($100) for the second offense. A third or subsequent offense is a Class B misdemeanor.
The more I think about it, the more I think this is a carrot that they can offer, and then use to gather statistics about what “criminals” we are as the number increment, even though they are only misdemeanors…….that will never once be said, but they will champion the number “violations and convictions”.
After chance to study it over night, as long as that provision is included with the bill, I will not support this.
Sixteen years ago.
Less than two years after FBI NICS became operational.
And conditions and the environment has changed. The prevailing opinion sixteen years ago was stricter gun control. With the attacks we have seen, with the terrorism on our own soil, there has been a significant swing in public opinion of the importance of gun rights.
