Texas Senator John Cornyn might be a Republican from a deep-red state, but he doesn’t seem to know much about the average Trump supporter.
Trump was popular for several reasons: He promised to get tough on illegal immigration, he promised to restore law and order to the United States, and he promised to build the wall.
The wall, in particular, might be DonaldĀ Trump’s most popular policy. Trump certainly seemed to think so. While on the campaign trail, Trump confessed that he would circle back to “the wall” whenever his speeches lingered off-topic for too long.
But Senator Cornyn doesn’t seem to think the wall is that important. In fact, he thinks that the people of Texas — who voted overwhelmingly for Trump — don’t want a wall at all.
It’s an odd statement coming from a representative of the nation’s largest border state.
Watch him argue that Trump supporters don’t actually want a wall on the next page:
Bull
Yes we do
I and most everyone I know want wall or don’t care either way , that is not saying no wall !
i want the wall as soon as possable
The hell we don’t!! YES, YES, YES we most certainly DO WANT A WALL ON THAT SOUTHERN BORDER. John Cornyn, we would VERY MUCH LIKE IT if YOU were on the South side of that wall once it is built.
Sir u are delusional
Yes they do!
Who the hell is this Cornyn to say what I want?? I voted for President Trump because he said a new wall would be built. Speak for yourself you closet Democrat. rmn.
Oh YES we do want that wall built!
THINK AGAIN CUPCAKE! WE NEED THE WALL. You are worried you will LOSE VOTER’S! ! !
