A jury decided last year that the owner of a small organic farm, Shellie Smith, still owes $4000 after a raid by SWAT that destroyed her farm.
Garden of Eden, a small organic in Arlington, Texas, was the target of a SWAT raid in 10-hour long search with Smith being held at gunpoint at one point.
Arlington police dept. stated that there were complaints of marijuana being grown on the premises, but none was found on the property. Instead, law enforcement confiscated 17 blackberry bushes, 15 okra plants, 14 tomatillo plants, native grasses and sunflowers.

Is this America?
Wow here we are 21st century and police can’t tell the difference between a blueberry bush and a marijuana plant, ok where did these cops get there education? I thought they had to go to the police academy? Who ever was in charge should be fired!!
I would have called the state police and the news media and record what they did. If neighbors had a problem of upkeep of the property then it’s up to the town to send a certified letter instructing her to clean up any thing that is disposable and trim what ever needs trimming with a 30 day notice of completion. Now as for the neighbors who complained they had a responsibility as a good neighbor (since they were so worried) offer to help if she needed help to get rid of what ever needed to be disposed of. Sometimes people need help but are afraid to ask. Maybe she was not well who knows, that is what neighbors are for!!!!
As for the police swat team, if the town can afford them then they can afford to have them trained to be responsible police officers.
For the lady get a good lawyer and sue the town and the police dept for your organic plants and pain and suffering, because it costs money to keep up organic plants and takes a few years to grow. You have been deprived of food for your table. You have rights just as much as anyone else.
Tyrannial government leads to this type of activity, when will the American people wake up.
It’s about time they went after those evil blueberries
By the way this type of behavior happen in 1939 by the government, they came to farmers and took their best milk cows as they said they were deceased, which was not true, they kept the farmers at bay while they loaded their best milk cows and back then they did not know why they did that. Luckily my father had two more which were out in the other pasture and they did not see them, they waited about a week and called the veterinarian who happen to be a friend and told them what happen, he ran tests about a week later found out there was nothing wrong with the cows. So here we are 21st century pulling the same garbage as in 1939, have we not learned anything except to rip people off!!!!
Come on people , maybe it was a little over the top but sounds to me like the place was way out of hand and the lady refused to clean the place up ! Not everything that happens today is a reason to throw our hands up in defiance , we all have to live by rules and regulations !
Gov. crimes against the people Over greed God help us
Yes the nazi regime wil tell us when where and how. Show us zee papers.
It is not legal, there are rules and I spelled them out, you just cannot act like the keystone cops after all this is the 21st century. There are guidelines as to how to handle property that needs to be cleaned up. It is simple and using common sense would really be helpful in these situations.
I didn’t know these kind of situations needed a swat team. Come on. Be realistic. Smh
