When the Supreme Court lost its most conservative member earlier this year, many thought that the remaining term could be a disaster for personal liberty cases. It turns out they were right. In the most recent decision, however, it’s not the court’s liberal wing who’s to blame. This time, the court’s traditionally conservative members dealt a confusing blow to the constitution’s Fourth Amendment.
Justices Thomas, Alito, Breyer, Kennedy, and Roberts joined forces in a decision that would grant the government additional search and seizure authority without probable cause. The decision likely intends to empower the police to stop and punish crime, but without prior knowledge of a crime being committed, all it does is allow a private citizen to be subject to imprisonment at the whim of U.S. authorities.
See what power this decision gives the U.S. government on the next page:
cops been doing ilegal searches for years now so this isnt new and people have been letting them
THERE WILL BE RESISTANCE TO THIS, AND THE NATION’S POLICE FORCES SHOULD REALIZE THIS !
My dog (if I had one) would make a great Judge (political appointee) on any court (sipreme makes me think of a oversized taco) — one woof = yes; silence = no.
That’s OK I was stopped for speeding on RT 95 and he search the care I asked why and the police search for drugs RT 95 is the takes from S Florida to New York
This is false allows search if and only if person has outstanding warrant
VOTE TRUMP!
We live by the constitution America. Any of these states like California, Hawaii, and others that go against the constitution are in violation and open for a constitutional lawsuit!!!
Well that is sure to get a hell of a lot more cops murdered
F**k the supreme idiots. Come with a warrant or risk not going home that night.
Where is all the 2nd amend. Bitches on the 4th amend.
