When the Supreme Court lost its most conservative member earlier this year, many thought that the remaining term could be a disaster for personal liberty cases. It turns out they were right. In the most recent decision, however, it’s not the court’s liberal wing who’s to blame. This time, the court’s traditionally conservative members dealt a confusing blow to the constitution’s Fourth Amendment.
Justices Thomas, Alito, Breyer, Kennedy, and Roberts joined forces in a decision that would grant the government additional search and seizure authority without probable cause. The decision likely intends to empower the police to stop and punish crime, but without prior knowledge of a crime being committed, all it does is allow a private citizen to be subject to imprisonment at the whim of U.S. authorities.

Not true…this ruling only has an impact who are stopped by law enforcement and there exists an outstanding warrant. SCOTUS ruled that if the stop was made and later probable cause was deemed insufficient, an arrest can still be made in regards to the outstanding warrant.
What saddens me is the shear number of people who are so willing to freely give up their rights just for the illusion of safety.
Freedom is dangerous people. if it scares you so much that everyone has the same freedoms, then please, move to a nation that is more in line with how you perceive the world.

Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law
This statute makes it a crime for any person acting under color of law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom to willfully deprive or cause to be deprived from any person those rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution and laws of the U.S.
This law further prohibits a person acting under color of law, statute, ordinance, regulation or custom to willfully subject or cause to be subjected any person to different punishments, pains, or penalties, than those prescribed for punishment of citizens on account of such person being an alien or by reason of his/her color or race.
Acts under “color of any law” include acts not only done by federal, state, or local officials within the bounds or limits of their lawful authority, but also acts done without and beyond the bounds of their lawful authority; provided that, in order for unlawful acts of any official to be done under “color of any law,” the unlawful acts must be done while such official is purporting or pretending to act in the performance of his/her official duties. This definition includes, in addition to law enforcement officials, individuals such as Mayors, Council persons, Judges, Nursing Home Proprietors, Security Guards, etc., persons who are bound by laws, statutes ordinances, or customs.
Punishment varies from a fine or imprisonment of up to one year, or both, and if bodily injury results or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire shall be fined or imprisoned up to ten years or both, and if death results, or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

This will just put some cops in harms way and solve nothing concerning crime. Fucking stupid ever since the government took over crime fighting which they were losing the battle before it started, every criminal element has thrived and expanded. When the government passed laws baning alcohol it took the citizen to step up and defend against the backlash of governments ignorance. Everytime they inact a new law or policy the criminal is the one who benefits, not to mention the politician who would never allow themselves to be subjected to the same treatment. Huff and puff and get your head blown off is all I see here, more hot air that allows the targeting of cops, even though the government screws cops again and again. To any cops reading this just because you put on that badge doesn’t mean your no longer a citizen or that other citizens wont treat you as such. I understand respecting the law and those given authority to enforce it, but truth be told most cops aren’t educated in the law, and any I’ve asked always diverted the questioning to the courts, whom you truly answer to badge or not. Make no mistake the court isn’t a room, just as the law isn’t a suggestion. Better wisen up, or this wont buy into the favor or safety you seek, you only incite the criminal and the law abiding alike. Not a very convincing place to operate from. I know the government ignorantly puts us all below them concerning the law anyway. Why a politician can break the law and just resign and if you the citizen did the same your gonna sit in a cell even if innocent, until given bail, or the legal matter is resolved. If only we did this to our corrupt politicians, we wouldn’t have near the crime. Funny the same way the average citizen thinks of criminals is the same way the criminal thinks of the government, looks like a vicious and meaningless cycle if I’ve ever seen one and explains why in the United States of America possesses the most prisons of all the other countries combined. Of course the corrupt wouldn’t want to much freedom, then they would have to really work to have favor with those they lie to and cheat on a regular basis. Just stupid, and unlawful.
