Ever had to deal with a power blackout during the hot summer months? Then you know just how important keeping cool can be.
Over on The Good Survivalist we found a great tip to save you money and keep you cool:
Seems every year people die due to heat. Keeping your home cool in the summer can be very expensive if you use your air conditioner. This air conditioner is very simple to make, and can be made in a few minutes if you are handy.Even if you are not handy you’ll be able to make one of these DIY air conditioners. One of the nice things about this air conditioner is that it will give you up to 6 hours of coolness. This thing works so well you may need to put on a sweatshirt! To make one of these babies you need a few simple tools, a couple of 5 gallon buckets, along with a few other items. Everything is shown in the video.
Press generator start button, resume with everyday activities.
Ok.. I’m so tired of seeing this. NO. This DOES NOT work as advertised… it is NOT an air conditioner. Air conditioners remove moisture (known as humidity) from the air in addition to chilling the air. This device would actually ADD moisture to the air. If you are going to use a battery powered fan and ice, you would be much better off just wrapping the ice in a towel and applying it directly to yourself. You would cool far more efficiently than this would ever do…
also it says during power outages is it just me or is that fan running on ac?
The fan is running on a solar power source, but i thought the same thing at first…plus I thought the silvery streams of foil coming out were water, which seemed pretty dangerous! LOL

So how much is a small generator??? How much is a solar panel??? If you have solar power why not hook it up to your a/c? Cool idea but the use in this situation is confusing.
Mark Lorenzana the liner looks to be a fishing bait bucket.
I’ve done it but you I used blue camping foam from Wal-Mart and have the air flow go around the frozen bottle and it workshop better
How do yu run the fan??
