Kendra Turner, 17, of Dyersburg, Tennessee was suspended because she said ‘bless you’ to another student who sneezed.
It seems that the teacher has a list of words you can’t say in class, and ‘bless you’ is on the list. The teacher told the Turner “Now we will not have godly speaking in my class.”

So this obvious silliness happened. Correct the silliness. That said…what about teachers hauling first graders from their desk to force them to swear allegiance to the teacher’s religion…and telling them they’re “disrespecting our troops” if they refuse? I’m a veteran AND ATHEIST. If I’d have come home from overseas…and decided to surprise a child by showing up in their class and saw that, EXTREME restraint on my part would have beenneeded.
If the “Christian nation” idiots had never insisted on this battle, stupid stuff like this would never happen. One case of stupidity in knee-jerk reaction to the NONSTOP and IN YOUR FACE religious conversion attempts…don’t even bother with the we’re so persecuted” bit. You persecute everybody. Atheists. Women demanding you leave them alone and give them equality. Minorities. Gays…and on and on and on…
Smack the principle here in the head and toss out the suspension. Simple. That said, you all need to call off the dogs you’ve been letting loose on everybody for years. THAT is the REAL solution. You wouldn’t tolerate JW’s moving into your home and telling your children your beliefs are wrong. So stop thinking YOU have that “right” to doit to OTHERS.
