Kendra Turner, 17, of Dyersburg, Tennessee was suspended because she said ‘bless you’ to another student who sneezed.
It seems that the teacher has a list of words you can’t say in class, and ‘bless you’ is on the list. The teacher told the Turner “Now we will not have godly speaking in my class.”

I’m an atheist and I think this is pretty crazy if this story is correct. On the flip side you have teachers forcing students to say “under God” in the pledge, and teachers hanging religious items in school. Students stupid be able to exercise freedom of speech that is not dangerous or disruptive. I cannot see how doing the traditional “bless you” after sneezing creates an issue…
God Bless her for she knows not what she is doing to her class or for herself. If she does know, she is ignorant!
