Kendra Turner, 17, of Dyersburg, Tennessee was suspended because she said ‘bless you’ to another student who sneezed.
It seems that the teacher has a list of words you can’t say in class, and ‘bless you’ is on the list. The teacher told the TurnerĀ “Now we will not have godly speaking in my class.”

Teachers deserve no credit. They are idiots.
Fire the WITCH !!! This c**p is getting old!!!
Can’t say merry Christmas ?!?!
Can’t fly the flag ?!?!
NOW can’t say God bless you!!!
WHATEVER !!!!
Sounds like a First Amendment violation to me. The government (in this case a public school, which functions on government funding) is not allowed to interfere with anyone’s religious practice. People get it turned around and think it is the religious practice that is not to be involved in the government, but if you truly research the Constitution, the Amendment was designed to keep the government out of everyone’s religious rights. This was because the Americans of that time (Protestants) were breaking away from the Church of England. On another note, it is not a religious practice to say “Bless you” any longer, as it has become a common place statement to say such a thing when someone sneezes. If anything, it is a reactionary statement. This young lady’s parents should file a civil suit against the school district and a formal complaint against the teacher and the principal for their actions.
Remove her from her teaching job she does not need to be handling children.
Fire the teacher and suspend the council.
But if she had put a woman in a noose like in New York she would have been fine. But there will come a day when these people will be begging someone to bless them!
so many things going on in the world to worry about and someone gets in trouble for showing some respect , this is just down right foolish !!!
Fight back. Hard
“Fire the teacher and suspend the council.” Well said Benjamin!
Is there any doubt that this country is going to implode in the not to distant future
