You could be forgiven for having a difficult time following all the players in the continuing saga that has engulfed Congressional committees, the president, the FBI, the NSA, Russia, the Clintons, former FBI Director Comey, WikiLeaks, the media, and who know how many others. The old baseball adage fits: “You can’t tell the players without a scorecard.”
Continuing the baseball metaphor, part of the problem is that it’s not entirely clear who is on whose team. Or for that matter, it’s not clear how many teams there are.
When one sits down to write a piece about this turmoil, one question that comes to mind is how much do potential readers already know, and how much time should be spent rehearsing information in an attempt to help clarify things rather than to obfuscate — something our politicians do well enough anyway.
So when we begin a piece with the assertion that Special Counsel Mueller might be accused of doing the very thing former FBI Director Comey accused President Trump of doing, do your eyes just glaze over, or is this all crystal clear to you?
We’ll try to straighten this out and clarify things for you, as well as hopefully explaining why this is important on page two.
Time for him to go

Carl,
I read through these posts.
I agree that these areas were the focus of numerous EOs.
The economic, jobs and market indicators are a continuation of favorable trends which Trump inherited. His easing of regulations, while marginally helping some industries are frequently reckless in that they are removing necessary consumer and environmental protections, such as the removal of bans on certain pesticides which have been proven to cause brain damage in children and the removal of the ban against the dumping of coal sludge in local rivers and streams.
Trump’s foreign policy accomplishments as presented in Joyce’s post are largely statements of position which are themselves very controversial. His trade positions are not yet emerging as policy. And it is important to remember that there are losers in agriculture and other industries once Trump’s policies are enacted.
Trump recently affirmed that Iran is complying with the existing multi-lateral treaty. Obama deported nearly 3M illegal immigrants and turned the net movement of people across the southern border to a reduction in people entering the country from Mexico. Trump has embraced the issue anecdotally but the macro picture is basically a no change. The appointment of Neil Gorsuch is positive, although the precedent set in essentially stealing this seat from Merrick Garland is unfortunate.
Trump has not had success legislatively with healthcare, infrastructure or tax reform and his very serious issues which precipitated the Special Counsel Investigation constitute the most significant element if his administration thus far. It is important to note that Trump has had Republican majorities in both houses of congress but nonetheless has yet to get any significant bills to his desk nor was he able to avoid the legal consequences of his very ill-advised communications and apparent collaborations with Russia during the campaign, which only six months in pose a potentially grave threat to his Presidency.
That said, Joyce’s memes do offer some opportunities for some intelligent discussion of the issues, although they do omit some of the more glaring disappointments with the Trump Administration.
Please keep in mind. ” It ain’t over yet”. Then we’ll make that judgement.
