This past March 7, the National Guard in South Carolina performed door-to-door ‘wellness checks’ in an state-wide drill entitled Operation Vigilant Guard. The stated purpose was to prep for a Category 4 hurricane disaster.
Overall, around 2,000 military personnel and 5,000 persons from the South Carolina emergency management divisions participated.
This certainly harkens back to Hurricane Katrina disaster, where the National Guard and local law enforcement confiscated guns door-to-door.

Seriously Jessie? Do you have any relatives in the service?
Jessie Schaner, you’re a $#%&!@*ing idiot.
Tom, you’re a $#%&!@*ing idiot. We do take an oath to uphold the cons$#%&!@*ution.
Look out
Look max I’m in a guard…. I can tell you we get briefings constantly from jag….. We aren’t here to take over or any of that bogus our job is to aid and $#%&!@*istance the states people…. I’m not a tyrant I’m a college student who wanted to serve my country as well and be able to get a degree…. And chip is right…. Militia was paid during the revolution. I learned that…… In college. So if you don’t want to trust us that’s fine but when the time comes that you need us remember this conversation. I’m proud of my guardsmen from home and fellow states.
I don’t like this president, but get a grip people!
Daniel Pfeiffer First let me say I am very pro military and thank you for your service. People are worried about the military being used against us citizens because it has already happened. During Katrina it DID happen look it up. Law abiding citizens had their weapons removed from their own homes during door to door searches. There are even national guard members that they say what they were doing felt wrong but they were just following orders. I am far from a conspiracy theorist but I do pay attention to president.
The point I was most trying to make, was what AJ touched on. The fact that beyond all speculation about confiscation, which I agree is def not beyond our corrupt government, would be highly fought by the very troops who supposedly are going to do it. I’m just a neighbor, construction worker and college student soon (at 25 -_-) but I am a citizen. Same as you guys…and I have absolutely no desire or will to violate the cons$#%&!@*ution. Nor will I. And the same goes for a plethera of my soldiers as well, simply we wouldn’t follow the orders. This isn’t Afghanistan or Iraq, it’s America. The place I would gladly bleed and die for, and you (along with everyone else) is the part I hold most sacred. It just upsets me to see people believing that because I chose to serve my country, that means I don’t have the for$#%&!@*ude or intelligence to see right from wrong and decide myself. Contrary to popular belief most of us are good people, and not robots lol
