In the wake of President Obama’s call for more gun control, more background checks, and threats that he is not done with trying to take guns away from law abiding citizens, it is clear that the public vociferously disagrees with him. That is easily seen by the large uptick in gun purchases, fueled by the fear of confiscation by the administration, and by the terrorist incidents that people have seen recently both in the U.S. and abroad.
In addition, there are numerous examples of ordinary citizens having guns in their homes for self protection that led to a more preferred outcome when the need arose. Home invasions have been thwarted by well-trained moms or even kids who were able to defend themselves when a call to the police would have been far to late to do anything but mark a crime scene. And that does not begin to count the thousands or tens of thousands of times that simply brandishing a weapon scared the perpetrator away.
It now seems that even police officers are beginning to get the idea that an armed citizenry can be very important in the battle against crime.
More guns, more safety, page 2:
Is this the call to arms you were telling me about Erica Riemersma?
Retarded, really.
Looked at your profile Kenny. I wouldn’t expect a different reply from a christian gun nut that watches Fox News.
Wes Granberg you call 911 and wait, me I call than shoot if I have too. Find real facts.
Most burglaries happen when no one is home. the few that do happen when the owner is home, is normally when everyone is asleep and most of those happen without the owners knowing until they wake up in the morning. 99% of the time when they know you are aware of them, they run off. The few that keep trying are usually too drunk or high to know what is going on. There is only a very small percentage where burglaries actually resulted in harm. Look it up on any crime statistics that are not based from Fox or wiki.
Chris Lynch, would you have impeached Ronald Reagan for the “Iran Contra” arms deal?
No one cares whether or not you feel the “need” to own a gun. You don’t want a gun, fine. You obviously were not brought up in a part of the country that embraces firearms as tools, recreation, etc. I know absolutely nothing about Lacrosse, but you don’t see me sharing my opinion on the matter. You and many others keep trying to label gun owners as unstable or crazy… but what are you basing your opinion on? Your lack of true understanding? Your fear? Here’s an idea… keep your uneducated opinions to yourself, because I can assure you, no gun owner in the country cares what you or any other left wing liberal thinks about any situation.
Who plans on losing there life at age 30 … Not many at all right??? Well why do they have life insurance.. Bc just in case it happens… They re family is taking care of… Same with having a a gun in there house or have a ccw… No one gets that intending to shoot anyone … But just in case… In the long run its cheaper than health insurance… And Personally anyone who comes into another persons house to steal or do harm to them family or property have it coming to get shot… Someone trying mugging someone they have it coming when they do it to the wrong person… Someone who holds up a store with any weapon and gets shot has it coming …. The bad guy is just that. And they are not a victim.. More bad guys who are trying to do harm or take advantage to innocent people have it coming.. So if the trend stops with Americans not allowing themselves to be victims and the attackers get blasted it might send a message to the future$#%&!@*bags
Almost forgot… what’s your plan if your home is invaded by one or more people? Gonna defend yourself and your family with a baseball bat? Hide and call the cops and hope they get there in time? Maybe you could talk them to death with your liberal views… and don’t forget to tell them they shouldn’t have a gun on them while they’re robbing you. You protect yourself in a car with a seatbelt, right? Does that make you paranoid of car accidents? No. It makes you prepared.
I don’t have a problem with recreational use of firearms. Hunting rifles, shotguns, even a little pistol by your nightstand. But do you hunt deer with an AK47. No. Nor does anybody need a thirty round clip. I think it’s ridiculous that a person can buy head to toe body armor on the Internet, and outfit themselves like they are going into combat. Where does it end.
And I don’t worry about home invasion. I have locks on my doors and I live in a safe city. The odds are about the same as winning the powerball. You see, unlike you, I don’t sit around at night thinking about all the horrible things that could happen to me. If I did I’d never leave my house. And statistically, you have a better chance of being broken into than me. Criminals love to steal guns.
By the way, if anyone’s interested, Brandon cooper in pamplico South Carolina has guns at his house.
Do you see how you just put your family in jeopardy by owning guns.
By the way. Another story in the news today about one of you responsible gun owners shooting himself in the foot at the sporting goods store. Thank god he only shot himself.
