In the wake of President Obama’s call for more gun control, more background checks, and threats that he is not done with trying to take guns away from law abiding citizens, it is clear that the public vociferously disagrees with him. That is easily seen by the large uptick in gun purchases, fueled by the fear of confiscation by the administration, and by the terrorist incidents that people have seen recently both in the U.S. and abroad.
In addition, there are numerous examples of ordinary citizens having guns in their homes for self protection that led to a more preferred outcome when the need arose. Home invasions have been thwarted by well-trained moms or even kids who were able to defend themselves when a call to the police would have been far to late to do anything but mark a crime scene. And that does not begin to count the thousands or tens of thousands of times that simply brandishing a weapon scared the perpetrator away.
It now seems that even police officers are beginning to get the idea that an armed citizenry can be very important in the battle against crime.
More guns, more safety, page 2:
Hahahahaha Obama hasn’t taken anyone’s guns, and hasn’t instituted marshal law. Looks like all you right wing nut jobs were WRONG again!!!!
I think your emotions got the better of your intellect.
What fight? I think you are being paranoid. Crime has gone down, violent crime has decreased even more and most police and sheriffs don’t want vigilantes enforcing the law.
Can you show me a law that takes a gun away from a law abiding gun owner? It’s a simple request, I’m merely asking you to justify your statement.
DT – California and new York are now seizing firearms of those deemed unfit, no law. Additionally, you have apparently missed diane feinstein’s lament “if I’d had the votes, Mr. and Mrs. America, I’d have picked them up, every one”, or barack obama’s and hillary clinton’s recent press conference statements alluding to the fact that United Kingdom, and Austrailian laws dealing with “gun violence” were worthy of consideration in this country (i.e. confiscation). The German Weimar Republic required citizen gun registration in the 1920s and 1930s, but included a provision specifically preventing use of those registrations to seize private citizen’s firearms. This provision was included to address citizen’s fears that the law would be misused to seize firearms from law-abiding citizens. Then adolph$#%&!@*came to power. Firearms of the gypsy’s were seized, contrary to law; firearms of the Jews were seized, contrary to law; then firearms of those conveniently designated as “enemies of the state” were seized, contrary to law. You can minimize and ridicule all you like, but history has never failed to repeat itself. Every great society has eventually destroyed itself from within. Ignorant, contemptuous, doubting Thomas attitudes such as yours are indications of an unguarded, trusting, blind, faith in human nature that nurses complacency to destruction. In modern times every requirement for registration of firearms, has led to the next logical step – confiscation. I don’t believe those attaining power in this country today are of any different, special charactor to avoid misusing, thus protecting their power, position and/or idealogy. For these thoughts and beliefs, I do not apologize, nor will I cede one inch! Molon Labe.
I would love it if you could show me the training protocol that was enacted by the police Chief?
I have yet to hear a cogent response to why the President should be impeached or why?
Republicans constantly vote down veteran issues and the states governor is the top cop . You need to study some more.
None of them are killers stupid!
Ronald Reagan did it first!
