Needville High School in Texas suspended Mason Michelac after his refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance as a protest against big government.
“I’m really tired of our government taking advantage of us,” said Michalec in a statement to KHOU. “I don’t agree with the NSA spying on us. And I don’t agree with any of those Internet laws.”
In protesting against our authoritarian government he runs into an authority trying to limit his first amendment rights.
at least he stood up unlike most in government (GOOD FOR HIM )
the flag stands for our founding fathers and those who have died defending it and what it stood for the last238 years
Good for him
Now they’re going to kill him
Big government really does SUCK! 😉
Some of your comments are a little uncalled for. This is a kid who thinks he’s doing the right thing although his judgement may be a little off. He hasn’t done anything illegal or hurt anyone so here’s some advice, LIGHTEN THE $#%&!@* UP!
wood he like to leave the USA if no buck up or get the hell out
no break, he’s over twelve years old. the dumb $#%&!@* can’t tell the difference between the nation and the temporary $#%&!@*s in office
If Mr Michelac does not want to pledge his allegiance to this country, he should go somewhere where he will not have to ascribe to a pledge of allegiance. It is too damned bad that some people do not teach their children patriotism and it is too bad that some children do not learn they live in the freest country in the world, because of the veterans who still believes in the pledge and the people who love the freedoms afforded them by this nation. I have been stationed in countries that the citizens would give their all to live life like Americans. So, if you agree with Mr Michelac, please remove yourself from this page, as you and I will never agree and though I will respect your decision, I will reserve the right to unfriend you. This country was founded on the backs of men and women who believed we should be free and wrote a constitution to assure our freedoms. We do not live in a democracy but a Constitutional Republic!
and his mom and dad too
