Needville High School in Texas suspended Mason Michelac after his refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance as a protest against big government.
“I’m really tired of our government taking advantage of us,” said Michalec in a statement to KHOU. “I don’t agree with the NSA spying on us. And I don’t agree with any of those Internet laws.”
In protesting against our authoritarian government he runs into an authority trying to limit his first amendment rights.
Make up your mind people, alot of schools have taken the pledge of allegiance out of there schools and people protest. Now a school still practice a old school honor by still reciting the pledge of allegiance and a child wants to make a statement for himself by standing against it. I say put your media attention agenda aside go to your local Marine Corp office sign the dotted line and go fight for this country to make a statement …
We do have a big government that needs to be brought under control. The pledge stands for more than just big government, but everything our country stands for. It is his right not to stand for the pledge of allegiance, just as much as it is my right to recite the Pledge of Allegiance inside Wal Mart or McDonalds. Why is the flag not flown at many Wal Marts or MCDS?
im for freedom but he is just being a douche bag
he’s a brave lad…He’s not saying that he refuses to pledge his alegience to America..but to the illegal authoritarian Regime that is currently in power.
you guys are nuts this is not our country…we have no say in a damn thing …wake the $#%&!@* up idiots…the government are illusionist…they paint a good picture for you all to beleive you have rights…but any one who tries to express their rights gets thrown in jail and called a terrorist
The Pledge of Allegiance IS NOT to the government it IS TO the Flag and country.
the pledge of allegiance is to this nation, not it’s government
I don’t agree with what he done, in fact I despise him, but that is his constitutional right and I and others served our country so he could practice that right.
You no what he has more cents then98 per cent of america
Send him to Egypt and let him see their life style compared to the USA….he would not last half an hour there, but he does deserve it.
