Liberals subscribe to magical thinking, believing that free college tuition and free health care to illegals will somehow end up a net win for the public. But reality often intrudes on this magical thinking like a big pimple on the end of your nose, and it is painful and unsightly. In this case, the laws of economics are intruding into the magical thinking of liberal politicians in San Francisco (as if there were any other kind there), and it is a growing problem.
San Francisco has declared that the minimum wage in the city, now being replicated in several other fact-challenged cities, will rise to $15 by 2018, and polls there predict happy, better-paid workers who will finally have a “living wage.” They have also insisted that this will not increase inflation and that it will be a boon to the minimum wage worker. That is a lie. And the impact is just now showing up as the first mandated rise from $10.74 to $12.25 is being implemented by certain retailers.
See who is raising prices in San Francisco, page 2:
Minimum wage should probably be raised $.50 every 4 yrs. That would cause almost 0 inflation and an easy transition for everyone.
More the min wage dont raise it… let them eat the tortillas that they bend
Here’s my question. Was this done by the local franchise owner or by Chipotle corporate? Is this just one person making this change out of fear or is Chipotle making an example of what might happen across the country?
” we run on a very thin profit margin” …Chipotle CEO pay was over 75million….
Savage lmao
I would be happy flipping burgers for 7.50 a hour. I would not expect to be paid much more than this.
Terry Johnson
They need to raise their minimum skills…….not wages…
Jake Candelaria I bought by first home making $9/hr and I was the sole breadwinner….it’s about priorities. I don’t have debt (other than a house), don’t have brand new cars (or payments), no tv…I think you get the picture…it is possible
And the cost of living was less. Cost of an apartment is about 60% of take home pay. You it was 30-40% try saving with inflation on homes and taxes. It is bad today and the bubble is going to pop soon.
Matthew Farabee wouldn’t you take money if people are handing it out? Everyone wants to get ahead….nothing to do with socialism. GE makes money in every other part of the world except America…then the govt hands them back money because they “lost” money….it’s all about positioning and money making
