Liberals subscribe to magical thinking, believing that free college tuition and free health care to illegals will somehow end up a net win for the public. But reality often intrudes on this magical thinking like a big pimple on the end of your nose, and it is painful and unsightly. In this case, the laws of economics are intruding into the magical thinking of liberal politicians in San Francisco (as if there were any other kind there), and it is a growing problem.
San Francisco has declared that the minimum wage in the city, now being replicated in several other fact-challenged cities, will rise to $15 by 2018, and polls there predict happy, better-paid workers who will finally have a “living wage.” They have also insisted that this will not increase inflation and that it will be a boon to the minimum wage worker. That is a lie. And the impact is just now showing up as the first mandated rise from $10.74 to $12.25 is being implemented by certain retailers.
See who is raising prices in San Francisco, page 2:
Negative….look what Wendy’s did with their 4 for 4 deal. Didn’t take long for everyone else to follow suit. First rule in any business is that gross follows volume. They may have only made 10% on those meals, but they sold a fuckload. I say let minimum wage be increased, but increase it across the board. If I make 15 now, I would expect an increase to 21.
That being said, watch these low life’s make too much for welfare and/or lose their jobs. There will be a major restructure in franchises all together…..which is what we need anyways. We have been sitting stagnant/deteriorating since the 80s….time to shake it up and see what technology can be fielded under stress.
What did they think would happen? Lower prices? Hire more workers? Assholes!
EBT cards don’t work at restaurants.
Liberals rarely allow reality to interfere with their beautiful vision.
I love it when Economics 101 smacks idiots in the face full force…
You are making the point for creativity and we all know the volume to price formula. The 4 for 4 model was done purely to drive burger sales not impact an economy GM took a stab at it 15-20 years ago by holding price on vehicles problem was the suppliers continued to raise part prices and squeezed GM to raise prices. That’s the type of creativity I’m talking about. Again early business did everything possible not to pass costs on to its customers, today’s business people need no incentive to raise a price again the example is oil. If a cloud forms in the Gulf, you can best believe that the price of oil will rise in the time it takes for someone to pick up the phone.

Another thing I lose out on because unskilled cry babies feel they should earn… I mean make as much as everyone else. I simply will go without when I notice the prices go up, it’s already 9 bucks for a burrito.
Point is that NONE of the ‘facists’ running the government out there are impacted by any of the illegals. They all live in their lily white compounds surrounded by fences and armed guards.
