Liberals subscribe to magical thinking, believing that free college tuition and free health care to illegals will somehow end up a net win for the public. But reality often intrudes on this magical thinking like a big pimple on the end of your nose, and it is painful and unsightly. In this case, the laws of economics are intruding into the magical thinking of liberal politicians in San Francisco (as if there were any other kind there), and it is a growing problem.
San Francisco has declared that the minimum wage in the city, now being replicated in several other fact-challenged cities, will rise to $15 by 2018, and polls there predict happy, better-paid workers who will finally have a “living wage.” They have also insisted that this will not increase inflation and that it will be a boon to the minimum wage worker. That is a lie. And the impact is just now showing up as the first mandated rise from $10.74 to $12.25 is being implemented by certain retailers.

Sounds like you’d rather see them on public assistance
Byron Harrison No sorry I own my own business.
No one EVER takes into account the number of Elderly..Disabled..& Retied into that figure of ” Public Assistance” the Walmart employees get…EXAMPLE..I am on SSI…I can make UP TO $ 1000 a Month before my benefits get cut..Because SSI is Considered ” Public Assistance ” I would be in that Number…Our Local Walmart starts new Hires out at $10.09 here…
F**k them then…
It doesn’t escape the left. It’s what they want. More people dependent on government so the can buy votes with lies and empty promises of taking care of them.
You have stated you own your own business many times, without providing any more information about this business.
What goods/services do you sell? How many employees do you have? What do you pay them? What are your total operating costs and what is your profit?
I run my own small business, currently part time, i do custom decals, shirts, coffee mugs, and design websites. I am the only employee, my wife helps out now and then.
I have yet to make a profit and pay myself. Every penny goes back into the business to grow it. Im always buying more supplies, more equipment, and expanding my products/services.
I am currently moving out of a small 475sq ft store and moving into a larger 1500 sq ft store/shop.
When the cost of my supplies goes up, guess what, the cost of my products goes up to my customer. It’s that simple.
My first year in business, i had $400 in sales, my second year i had $2800. My third year inhad $6400. And last year, my 4th year, i had $11,900 in sales.
Of course my expenses went up as well…
Why?? If they cry enough and vote democrat enough and get socialism, they can make just as much flipping burgers as a brain surgeon does.
DUH!
Just like soap and water…
