Liberals subscribe to magical thinking, believing that free college tuition and free health care to illegals will somehow end up a net win for the public. But reality often intrudes on this magical thinking like a big pimple on the end of your nose, and it is painful and unsightly. In this case, the laws of economics are intruding into the magical thinking of liberal politicians in San Francisco (as if there were any other kind there), and it is a growing problem.
San Francisco has declared that the minimum wage in the city, now being replicated in several other fact-challenged cities, will rise to $15 by 2018, and polls there predict happy, better-paid workers who will finally have a “living wage.” They have also insisted that this will not increase inflation and that it will be a boon to the minimum wage worker. That is a lie. And the impact is just now showing up as the first mandated rise from $10.74 to $12.25 is being implemented by certain retailers.

Shane Piscione Thanks Shane, you nailed it! If you’re going to a fast food place for a “living wage”, then you’re already behind the life curve. Stay in school, learn a living skill and you will be fine. Don’t sap others because you’re stupid.
Steve Strohm don’t swim in the deep end.

Not sure what else they expected to happen each company operates at a certain profit margin. They are going to do whatever it takes to maintain that margin. Period
People should be paid what they deserve to be paid for the job and for Chipotle thats 7.50 an hr. Fast food jobs are for high school kids not adults with kids and house’s. If you’re 45 and working at burger king or Chipotle they you deserve to be broke, get off your lazy$#%&!@*s and get a real job, there literally everywere.
CEOs are paid for their ability to turn a profit their salary is based on the stockholders confidence he can turn a profit . Think of him as a pro athlete He makes out of proportion to the guy who cuts the grass but the landscaper doesn’t have to worry about being key go after a bad season.
It’s not magical thinking when it works. And it does.
brian don’t engage him… You won’t ever convince him it isn’t the evil rich person. Why start a business if you can’t get paid.
Just like McDonald’s, executives won’t take a pay cut because they took the money risk on opening a store and provided minimum wage jobs to the community. I’m sorry, I went to school for four years to make more money. Minimum jobs shouldn’t make the same money because those people don’t have the same ambition. McDonald’s is just replacing those workers with computer ordering kiosks. At least the orders will be correct and the price of the food won’t double to compensate for over paying people.
No way a mcD burger flipper should make what my g/f started out in nursing making.
