Someone needs to tell the House Speaker that the basic economic principle of ‘supply and demand’ definitely applies to the workforce in America. Paul Ryan’s 2015 2,009-page omnibus spending bill had 700 pages slipped in regarding H-2B visa expansion for foreign workers. He believes that the supply of workers in the United States is not enough to make up for the demand by employers.
This is a staggering suggestion, that the unemployed workers in the United States, the marginally attached and or discouraged, would not take a seasonal job if it became available.
The supply of able bodied workers should be the first to meet the demand of these businesses, yet Ryan believes low-waged foreign earners are the ones who should take them. He has no evidence to support his claim “that corporations are facing a shortage of labor, which rendered the provision necessary.”

There are still unemployed people and there are a lot more on welfare. Can those companies hire Americans instead of foreigners?
There’s plenty of Americans to do the job, the only reason you hire these pieces of garbage is so you can pay for cheap labor and under the table, if you hire illegal immigrants you should go to jail
So, is that why Corporations are laying off Americans and replacing them with immigrants? Would they really shut the doors if they continued with the American workers? Mr. Ryan, that’s a crock of well aged bull manure.

We can have all foreign workers —just let them come in legally. What is so wrong in that view.. why did my relatives have to come in thru Ellis Island with sponsors. They couldn’t get off the boat and walk in.
John Byerly sad to say but some can’t get a job because they didn’t graduate highschool. Or can barley read or write. Thanks to the no kid left behind idea. Some just think if all they can make is minimum wage they would rather be on unemployment or welfare.
