Vladimir Putin is pretty infamous for his no-nonsense approach to politics. He’s also known for not giving a damn for anyone’s sensitivities. Ever since Muslim-controlled Turkey shot down a Russian jet last month, Putin has been upping his rhetoric against the religion. After announcing his thoughts on imposing some stricter sanctions on the country, he said something that is likely to draw some ire from more sensitive Muslims.
Putin said during a press conference that he was not interested in “saber-rattling” with Turkey. He promised stronger sanctions on the country. After Putin’s statements the Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak announced that Russia would be ending the talks on the Ankara Turkish gas steam pipeline, a move designed, he said, “to emphasize the strength of Kremlin anger.”
Between Putin’s relatively gentle chiding and Mr. Novak’s more aggressive announcement to halt energy discussions with Turkey, it’s clear that Putin wishes he could do more. And perhaps he would, if the NATo countries could be convinced to coordinated their attacks with Russian military.

Why do we worry about offending Muslims? No one worries about the fact that i find it offensive that they come into our country and disregard almost all the customs and history of our nation.Why do they come here in the first place? If it’s to get away from their oppressors and look for a better life,that’s fine.But don’t come here and think you own the place.
Jon you said the war between Christians and Muslims is 3000 years old, that’s impossible, because, Christianity is only 2000 years old, and Islam is only 1,400 years old. Christianity started with the birth of Christ in 4 AD and his death and resurrection in 33 AD, Muhammed wasn’t born until 570 AD, that’s 570 years after Christ, And Islam didn’t start until 610 AD, 610!years after Christ and Muhammed died in 632 AD, 632 years after Christ, so 3000 years at war is impossible. Muhammed started his Jihad (war) against the Christians of Medina in 622 AD, because they would not accept him as a prophet.
Mr Putin has to walk a tight line with his comments, some of the former republics of the Soviet Union are majority Muslim AND are potential boiling points for Russia with ethnic conflicts simmering below the facade of calm that he projects.
Muslims need to be offended and infuriated until there are none left that feel offended and infuriated…
