It is sad that Obama, Clinton and Kerry have so messed up the Middle East with their “Arab Spring” that Vladimir Putin becomes the hero who brings order out of the chaos.
Putin, allies with Assad. His relations with Iran are improving. (Hey, you don’t see masses of people in the streets of Tehran shouting “Death to Putin! Death to Russia!”) Russia sees Syria as a strategic location. They have moved military to the Syrian border. Putin believes Obama’s fingers in the Middle East have left a vacuum that ISIS is filling. Putin is closely aligned with how many American conservatives view Obama’s bungling of it. More bungling on the next page.
From Putin’s UN speech:
Instead of the triumph of democracy and progress, we got violence, poverty and social disaster — and nobody cares a bit about human rights, including the right to life. I cannot help asking those who have forced that situation: Do you realize what you have done?”
A report at Jihad Watch answers:
No, they don’t realize what they have done, and they’re poised to do more of it. And those of us who warned at the time that the “Arab Spring” would not lead to “the triumph of democracy and progress,” but to “violence, poverty and social disaster,” were dismissed and derided as racist, bigoted “Islamophobes.” And no matter how often the establishment analysts get things wrong, and disastrously, and fatally so, they never get called to account, and keep applying the same failed solutions.

Bravo! Well said.
Two choices: Either the Obama regime, who encouraged what they named the “Arab Spring” knew exactly the fallout, and wanted to destabilize the Middle East. Or the Obama regime is delusional and really thought having “JV Team”, ISIS, fill the vacuum. That’s a good thing.
Whatever you think of Putin, he is right about Obama. No easy answers, but with pro-Arab apologists like Samantha Powers as Ambassador to the UN, a real confidante, who has the ear of the President, and was one of the architects of the Arab Spring, you can bet what happens next will be more of the same.
Perhaps after Putin is through eliminating ISIS over there, we can invite him here to take on the tens of thousands of Syrian Islamists that Obama is inviting in.
All Obama has killed is valuable time. And shut up about our PRESIDENT DONALD J TRUMP..HE is exactly who we wanted and for the first time in many years OUR VOICES WERE HEARD.
Give that bum hell Putin!!!
Trump gets in this scenario will change drastically!!
It’s about time a leader calls Obama out!
Well, Chris, i thoiught you were claiming that the Prez had expanded the two wars he inherited to seven countries or started 5 new ones, himself. Clearly, just conducting a drone strike or sending in Seal Team 6 to take out a terror site doesn’t fit either description. In any event, your original claim in this regard wasn’t intended as praise, but just the opposite. So, if there are certain of these countries that you believe we should have exempted as protected terror sanctuaries to be respected, say which ones.
What I had to say about the President’s record on employment wasn’t based just on a WaPo report, but also on the very BLS stats you offer in the form of a screenshot. You now complain that it took four years–following what’s been deemed the worst global economic crisis since the Great Depression–to return employment to the same level he inherited? Fine & dandy; here’s the screenshot of the data during the REAGAN’s tenure. As may be seen, it took HIM only slightly less time to accomplish such a feat. However, he did so while being allowed to EXPAND public employment; OBAMA was handed such a task while being deprived of that device.
Yes, Clinton signed Phil Gramm’s bill into law. My only objection was when you attempted to claim that the consequences of it’s passage were the product of a “liberal” program. Since you brought it up, tho, try to keep it in mind as we watch the GOP endeavor to gut Dodd-Frank.
Waste and Fraud? Nobody likes it, but I don’t know any serious person who thinks that it’s eradication alone can balance the budget. However, cutting the IRS enforcement budget–when it’s established track record has produced revenue many times it’s cost–was a goofy GOP idea. So is giving multinationals a tax holiday on off-shore deposits–and without a word requiring those billion$ to be used toward domestic job creation when brought ashore, but make sure you have a good seat to watch that one move forward, too. .
Your suggestion that Obama had a 2 year legislative honeymoon with a Senate supermajority for 2 years is just as illegitimate as your apparent belief that his infrastructure initiative–and one designed to pay for itself–DESERVED to be defeated when presented. To set the record straight, the machinations which delayed the seating of Sen. Franken and the illnesses which plagued Senators Kennedy and Byrd left any such supermajority (and, even then, one hypothesized only by counting both independents and DINOs like Lieberman of Connecticut and Nelson of Nebraska) in existence for a period less than 80 days, NOT the two years you suggest. Indeed [and stating the obvious], that’s WHY McConnell was able to set a new record for obstruction.
Look, as far as trade is concerned, this isn’t a new issue, and particularly concerning China. The Prez has taken complaints to the WTO while Clinton campaigneed on the issue and pointing to a need for more enforcement resources. That’s fine, but people need to understand that this has never been a simple matter –and I’m talking about over the DECADES. Tax breaks to manufacturers, subsidies to grain producers, currency manipulation and tariffs are all cut from the same cloth; think carefully if you want to complain about Chinese tariffs on US electronics while we have shiploads of subsidized US grain waiting to be off-loaded overseas.
On the other hand, you apparently think it was poor form for the sitting Prez to levy sanctions against Russia as it’s involvement in cyber attacks became confirmed in the latter days of his tenure. Sorry, but you lost me: Precisely WHY is is that supposedly inappropriate, and WHO says so, exactly?
Lastly, Israel has been treated very well by this President, but has not been handed a blank check or handed the right to dictate US policy any more than it has permitted us to dictate theirs. They say they have proof that we’ve conspired with others to be big bad meanies to poor widdle Bennie? In the first place, US has been publicly opposed to settlement construction like this for a LOOOOONG, dude, before Obama took office; claiming an “ambush” doesn’t even pass the laugh test. Beyond that, Israel’s “evidence” of US complicity turned out to be based on some stuff printed in a regional rag over there and flatly denied by our government [which, I guess explains WHY they weren’t too eager to point out their “evidence”, to begin with].
