If you live in Massachusetts, don’t labor under the misconception that you own your vehicle, or a boat or plane. Under a bill sponsored by a Democrat legislator, the Commonwealth would forbid you from adding a hidden compartment to secure your private property, such as a handgun, money or other valuables.
Designed as an alleged anti-drug law, the bill would punish those who add a hidden compartment after the vehicle is purchased with a two-year mandatory prison sentence, and five years for subsequent offenses.
Even worse, the law would empower police to seize the vehicle under civil forfeiture law. Lawmakers in support of the House bill claim it’s necessary to prosecute the war on drugs. State police officials have endorsed the bill as needed to discourage drug trafficking.

Never happen. This lawmaker is dreaming. Trying to make a name for himself. You can make any hidden compartment in you own vehicle you want. You better not ever hide contraband or narcotics in it or you should go to jail.
There is NO war on drugs, the govt makes to much money on them.
It’s not the fact as whether your law abiding or not, it’s simply infringement of our rights. Cutting our rights apart little by little. They say that you you will give up your rights then we can protect you from this or that, b******t. They make to much on drugs to stop them.

I think politicians should all be fired, stop making law and let it ride a few years as is and have a huge group go over the thousands of laws on the books now. And start cleaning up the mess.
My car, my property if I want to hide it, I’ll hide it.. Now if they change the proposed law to only make it illegal if drugs are found. I’d support that. It’s like carrying a handgun is legal, unless you use it to commit a crime, then it’s illegal. It be OK with that. But it’s probably too much common sense that way…
