If you live in Massachusetts, don’t labor under the misconception that you own your vehicle, or a boat or plane. Under a bill sponsored by a Democrat legislator, the Commonwealth would forbid you from adding a hidden compartment to secure your private property, such as a handgun, money or other valuables.
Designed as an alleged anti-drug law, the bill would punish those who add a hidden compartment after the vehicle is purchased with a two-year mandatory prison sentence, and five years for subsequent offenses.
Even worse, the law would empower police to seize the vehicle under civil forfeiture law. Lawmakers in support of the House bill claim it’s necessary to prosecute the war on drugs. State police officials have endorsed the bill as needed to discourage drug trafficking.

Just like seatbelt laws in many states weren’t supposed to be reason for a primary traffic stop. Well we all knew who paid off the legislators and judges, the insurance company lobbyists. So you’ve always worn your seatbelt, have t had an accident or ticket in 20 yrs or more. What should be a golden customer gets bent over as bad as a multiple DUI or 16 yr old. If they had left the seatbelt laws alone it would have done a lot more to actually fix stupid.. Any excuse to get their nose under the tent they run with it in some altruistic motive to save us from our own stupidity; and they are right; we gall for it most of the time. Same premise with Obama care, make medical care equally impossible to get, afford, or do without, get the suckers coming and going.
It should only be prosecutable if you are caught smuggling weapons or drugs.
