South Carolina State Rep. Alan Clemmons (R) has proposed a measure for a state curriculum that would require students to complete a three-week class on the US Constitution. The course would focus on the Second Amendment using materials endorsed by the NRA and if a companion bill is passed along with it students would also attend shooting ranges.

we study the constitution and the bible when in high school, but then i graduated in 1958
TRUE, should always be studied, for all Americans.
Should also be focusing on the First Amendment as that is also the one in trouble.
Everyone in my 8th grade class had to know the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Freedoms and the whole government before we could graduate to go to H.S. They need it now, but with obammy’s school person is a communist and gay. That is why we have common core. The states need to implement it in their schools and take out the unions.
the whole Constitution, AND the Bill of Rights should be mandatory. . .
We studied it in 8th or 9th grade civics class, if you did not know it , you failed the semester !!!!!!!!!!
This should be in all 50 states, right now.
I had a US Government class in HS.
I think it should be started in the 5th grade and government should also be studied, after all young people (16-25) on the street were asked questions about government and they stood there with there mouth open(no answer). Some answered but they were guessing and still got it wrong. This goes to show our schools are not teaching the children about who is who in our government and how it works.
I agree, but it is still no more important than the rest.
