South Carolina State Rep. Alan Clemmons (R) has proposed a measure for a state curriculum that would require students to complete a three-week class on the US Constitution. The course would focus on the Second Amendment using materials endorsed by the NRA and if a companion bill is passed along with it students would also attend shooting ranges.

Why? Why is the 2nd amendment more important that the rest of the bill of rights? If I were giving the course, I’d focus on the 16th, 17th amendments and Article V. I’d also revisit the 13th through 15th amendments.
make the student take the immigration test and pass to graduate.
We had to pass Government to graduate. and included studying the constitution. It should be a required class all across America before Senors can graduate. They have to know it anyway if they plan to go to law school and become lawyers.

Going to high school in the 70’s, we were required to take one year of government & civics classes where it ALL was laid out & explained to us about how our government was founded, upon what principles & of course, the U.S. Constitution & BIll of Rights. That was then & sadly, this is now.
