South Carolina State Rep. Alan Clemmons (R) has proposed a measure for a state curriculum that would require students to complete a three-week class on the US Constitution. The course would focus on the Second Amendment using materials endorsed by the NRA and if a companion bill is passed along with it students would also attend shooting ranges.

We used too and some how it just went away, should be a required subject.
The constitution should be taught according to the founders view of limited govt and from their writings..not the progressive view that it is a living changing document .It was written to handle a large people if they were moral .The preamble which lists the 6 reasons for central govt and the bill of rights ..plus 2 amendments and that was the constitution until after the civil war. Then over the years it was dismantled by progressive idealists who added amendments especially 16 and 17 that took the republic..so it all depends on how it is taught..
Keep the sheep ignorant of what the government is doing today . Ivy League schools study it , they run the country by finding ways around it . Sad
