South Carolina State Rep. Alan Clemmons (R) has proposed a measure for a state curriculum that would require students to complete a three-week class on the US Constitution. The course would focus on the Second Amendment using materials endorsed by the NRA and if a companion bill is passed along with it students would also attend shooting ranges.

in the 60s we had a civics course in 6th grade and had to pass a test on the constitution and govt before graduating to 7th grade now called middle school and continuing to junior high and high school 7th ,8th,9th were Jr high 10th ,11th,12th were high school and graduation and in 12th grade we had to pass another final exam on govt and general education called SAT and ACT before we could go on to university
I like this idea but it has to be handled correctly without opinion of instructor or things added in that are not correct.
We studied the Constitution in Required U.S. History and also in Civics. We also studied Communism As a Senior. not required but it was dueing Vietnam problem that led to Vietnam War.
We also studied it in the 50s.
