South Carolina State Rep. Alan Clemmons (R) has proposed a measure for a state curriculum that would require students to complete a three-week class on the US Constitution. The course would focus on the Second Amendment using materials endorsed by the NRA and if a companion bill is passed along with it students would also attend shooting ranges.

This shocks and alarms me. I wasn’t aware that America’s children were not being taught, in depth, about the Constitution, it’s authors, and their intentions. I certainly was. If this is true, our own children could not pass the test that we require LEGAL immigrants to pass to become citizen’s. Detailed knowledge of the Constitution is essential for an informed electorate.
