South Carolina State Rep. Alan Clemmons (R) has proposed a measure for a state curriculum that would require students to complete a three-week class on the US Constitution. The course would focus on the Second Amendment using materials endorsed by the NRA and if a companion bill is passed along with it students would also attend shooting ranges.

Well……it really doesn’t by any stretch of the imagination. So, how do you explain the part about “well regulated militia?” Clearly, the context of this amendment is within the scope of citizen soldiers of that era. Billy, I believe I do have the right to keep and possess the weapons that I have because I am a responsible law abiding American citizen that has earned the right. I also believe that there should be reasonable regulations to keep weapons out of the hands of the mentally ill, criminals, and idiots! In over 50 years of listening to the alarmists, I have come to the conclusion that NO ONE from the government is coming to take my guns!
