Catholic Church believes that abortion is an atrocious act, a grave sin and they have certainly excommunicated many for commiting the act.
However, because it is a Holy Year, a year of Jubilee, the Pope wants to show mercy and allow all priests to forgive any woman with a repentant “contrite heart”.
Pope Francis said that women who have had abortions, “bear in their heart the scar of this agonizing and painful decision” and thus mercy is to be shown during Dec. 8 to Nov. 26.

The Pope nor Priests have any authority at all to forgive anything. The Bible teaches that forgiveness comes from God through the blood of Jesus. It teaches that the veil of the temple was wrent top to bottom when Jesus went up on the Cross. Each individual is to work put their own salvation through prayer.
They can’t forgive sins only JESUS CAN FORGIVE !!!

Well my friends you really need to read the bible more closely. Jesus Christ gave the power to forgive sins to the apostles. They in turn p$#%&!@*ed it down to their sucessors. An unbroken line to todays pope and priests. They truly act in the person of Christ.
I am sure God or Jesus does not Forgives abortions. I would like to Bless the Pope and ask God for Forgiveness for what he has said.
